Expanded Child Abuse and Neglect: Recognizing, Reporting, and Supporting

This training is an extended version of the regularly scheduled KCSL training to allow for extra time to hear from DCF on screening protocols, policies and practices of what happens once a report is made. This training will address areas of risk and protective factors, definitions of child abuse and neglect per Kansas law and provide examples of common indicators. Participants will learn the appropriate responses to suspected abuse or neglect, discuss what to do in the event of child disclosure and understand Kansas mandated reporter laws. This training is NOT approved by KDHE for child care licensing hours. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance, which other licensing bodies will accept.
